1. Information we collect

We collect different categories of information from and about you from different sources, as described in more detail in this section.

Information Collected from All Users

We collect information you provide to us directly when you use our Services, such as information you voluntarily submit when you register for our Services or contact us via the “Contact Sales” page or otherwise (which may include your name, your job title, school or district, phone number, email address, ZIP code, and any other information you voluntarily provide to us, such as gender or age). 

Information Collected from Parents, Schools, and Students

We also collect the following information depending on the type of user you are:

• Information collected from parents, including their name, phone number, physical and email addresses, account password, student age, student class enrollment, purchase history, financial information (including payment card or bank information, which are processed and stored by third-party payment processors, not us), any known allergies, and general location (such as city and state or zip code).
• Information collected from schools, including the parents’ and students’ names, phone numbers, physical and email addresses, account passwords, student age, photos, student class enrollment, purchase history, financial information (including payment card or bank information, which are processed and stored by third-party payment processors, not us), any known allergies, and certain biometric information (such as students’ hand or face scans).
• Information collected from students, including student email address and account password, purchase history, payment information (including payment card or bank information, which are processed and stored by third-party payment processors, not us), any known allergies, general location (such as city and state or zip code), and certain biometric information (such as students’ hand or face scans).

Information We Collect Automatically

When you use or access our Services, we may also automatically collect information about you from your device. This includes:

• Geographic Location: We collect general geographical location information if the Services you are using are location-enabled and your device transmits location data and/or your IP address. This enables us to provide location-specific information to you.
• Usage Data: We may log certain information when you access and use our Services. This may include your IP address, user-agent string, browser type, operating system, referral URLs, device information (e.g., device IDs), pages visited, links clicked, the requested URL, hardware settings, and search terms. 
• Information collected from cookies and similar technologies: We, our service providers, and third-party advertising and analytics partners also collect information about users of the Services automatically using cookies and other tracking technologies. For example, these third parties may use cookies, pixel tags (also called web beacons or clear gifs), and/or other technologies to collect such usage information for advertising and analytics purposes. Pixel tags enable us and our third-party partners to recognize a browser’s cookie when a browser visits the site on which the pixel tag is located in order to learn which advertisement or website brings a user to a given site.

You can change your settings to notify you when a cookie is being set or updated, or to block cookies altogether. Information We Collect From Third Parties

We collect the following information about you from third parties:

• Publicly available sources: We may collect information from publicly-available sources, such as social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Additionally, if you interact with us on third-party platforms, such as via email or social email, we may collect information we receive from such third-party platforms as well.  We use this information to supplement the information we collect directly from you for purposes of providing our Services.        
• Other sources: We may also obtain information about you, such as demographic information, from various third parties, such as business partners, marketers, researchers, analysts, and other parties that we may attribute to you based on your assignment to certain statistical groups. 

We use this information to supplement the information that we collect directly from you in order to derive your possible interests and to provide more relevant experiences for you with our company and improve our products, analytics, and advertising.

2. How we use the information we collect

We generally use the information we collect about you to operate, manage and maintain our business, to provide our products and services, and to accomplish our business purposes and objectives, including:

• to administer, manage, and improve our Services and provide our services, such as to create and administer accounts;
• to provide the product, service, feature or information you have requested and to fulfill your transactions, including to process payments;
• to send you administrative messages, updates, legal notices, technical notices or security alerts;
• to conduct research and development, and allow us and our analytics partners to analyze and understand trends and user behavior and to improve our Services, products and services;
• to provide customer service, technical and other support;
• to protect the safety of EZ School Apps and our users, including to ensure compliance with our Terms of Use and other policies, block suspected spammers, address abuse, and detect and prevent fraud;
• to meet contractual obligations;
• to protect the security of our systems, and otherwise to debug or troubleshoot the Services;
• to exercise our rights, defend legal claims and comply with law, legal process and internal policies; and
• for other purposes with your consent or as permitted or required by law.

Data de-identification.   We may aggregate and/or de-identify information collected through the Services. To the extent permitted by applicable laws, we may use de-identified and/or aggregated data for any purpose, including without limitation for research and marketing purposes, and may also disclose such data to any third parties, including advertisers, promotional partners, sponsors, and/or others.

Data combination.   For the purposes above, we may also combine the information that we collect through the Services with information that we receive from other sources, both online and offline, and use such combined information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

3. Online analytics and advertising 

As you use our Services, we, our service providers, and ad and analytics partners collect a variety of information through the use of “cookies” and similar technologies, such as tracking pixels, to understand how you navigate through and interact with our Services, to learn what content is popular, to enhance the Services and provide you with a more relevant and personalized experience, for authentication and advertising purposes, to save your preferences, and to collect certain usage, device and location information as described above. 

Online analytics

We may use third-party web analytics services on our Services, such as those of Google Analytics and Cloudflare. These service providers use the sort of technology described in the “Information we collect automatically” section above to help us analyze how users use the Services. The information collected by the technology will be disclosed to or collected directly by these service providers, who use the information to evaluate your use of the Services on our behalf. Tailored Online Advertising

EZ School Apps strives to provide you with relevant, tailored advertising regarding our Services. However, we do work with online analytics and advertising partners, such as Google to: (1) better understand the use of our Services so that we can improve our Services; and (2) deliver EZ School Apps advertisements that are more tailored to you both on our Services and on third-party Services.

To engage in these activities, our partners may place cookies, pixel tags and similar technologies on many online services, including ours. They use these technologies to collect information about your activities on across different online services to deliver you more relevant advertising. For example, they may use the information they collect from their cookies on our Services to identify EZ School Apps products and services you might be interested in and to recognize your device so they can show you relevant EZ School Apps advertisements while you are using another online service. 

We do not have access to, and this Privacy Policy does not govern, the use of cookies or other tracking technologies that may be placed on devices you use to access our Services by non-affiliated third parties. Please note that these opt-outs apply per browser and per device, so you will have to opt out for each device—and each browser on each device—through which you access our Services.

4. How we disclose your information

We may disclose information we collect about you in the following circumstances.

Affiliates

We disclose information about you to our affiliates and subsidiaries under common ownership and/or control with us in accordance with applicable law.

Advertising and analytics partners

As described above in the “Online analytics and advertising” section, we may disclose certain information about your device and browsing habits with third-party advertising partners to present you with more relevant advertising about our Services as you browse the Internet.

Service Providers

We may use service providers (including affiliates acting in this capacity) to provide services to us or to you on our behalf. For example, our service providers may host our Services, analyze data collected from our Services, provide customer service on our behalf, administer our promotions, facilitate and process transactions and payments, distribute emails and other communications, collect your feedback on our Services and advertisements, and provide security or legal services. We disclose your information to our service providers solely for the purposes of providing services to you and to us. They are not permitted to use your information for other purposes. 

With your consent

We may disclose your information to third parties with your consent. For example, if you provide us with your contact information, such as an e-mail address, for the purposes of signing up for information, newsletters, contests, or marketing offers from a third party, or for receiving business offers from a third party, we may disclose your information for that purpose. Once disclosed for these purposes, your information will be subject to the privacy policy of that third party.

Business Transactions

We may disclose your information to third parties in connection with the proposed or actual financing, securitization, insuring, merger, sale, assignment or other disposal of all or part of EZ School Apps or our business or assets. These third parties may use the information for the purposes of evaluating and/or completing the proposed transaction and thereafter as a successor of our interests.

Our community

We may disclose information you provide to us, for example, in connection with your customer testimonial or product review. These may be available to the public, so please only provide information you would like included on the Services.

5. International users

The Services are provided from and located in the United States.   The information we collect may therefore be transferred to and stored in countries outside of the jurisdiction you are in where we and our third-party service providers have operations, including the United States, where the applicable data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence. By using the Services, you acknowledge that these transfers will occur.

6. How we store and protect information and information retention

Security: The security of your information is important to us. While we have implemented a variety of technical, physical, and organizational security measures designed to protect the information we collect, no website or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee the security of your information. We urge you to take steps to keep your information safe, such as choosing a strong password and keeping it private, as well as logging out of your user account, and closing your web browser when you have finished using a Services on a shared or unsecured device.

Information Retention: We keep your information for no longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed. The length of time for which we retain information depends on the purposes for which we collected and use it and/or as required to comply with applicable laws.

7. Links to external content

Our Services may link or direct you to other websites, services or external content provided by third parties. We do not exercise any control over these third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such third-party websites or services. We recommend that you read the privacy policy for any third-party website that you visit or service that you use.

8. Children

EZ School Apps does not knowingly solicit or collect information from anyone under the age of 13 without appropriate parental consent or authorization by a school customer pursuant to an agreement.  If you have questions about our processing of child and student data, please contact us using the contact information below.

9. Your Rights and Choices

a. Information rights and choices.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to make certain requests regarding your "personal information" or "personal data" (as such terms are defined under applicable law, and collectively referred to herein as "personal information"). Specifically, you may have the right to ask us to:

• Inform you about the categories of personal information we collect or disclose about you or, if you’re a parent, your child; the categories of sources of such information; the business or commercial purpose for collecting your or your child’s personal information; and the categories of third parties with whom we disclose personal information.
• Provide you access to and/or a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child.
• Correct or update personal information we hold about you or your child.
• Delete certain personal information we have about you or your child.

Please note that certain information may be exempt from such requests under applicable law. For example, we need to retain certain information in order to provide our Services to you. We also need to take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include, at a minimum, depending on the sensitivity of the information you are requesting and the type of request you are making, verifying your name and email address. In accordance with applicable law, we may send you marketing communications regarding our Services or the services of third parties that we believe will be interesting to you. We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in the law, our data collection and use practices, or advances in technology. We will make the revised Privacy Policy accessible on the Services, so you should review the Privacy Policy periodically.
